In fact, the
card you are using, a PCI-843x (RS485), supports non-standard baud rates.
For instance,
a standard baud rate is 9600 bps, but the 843x will actually allow you to enter
a baud rate of 1000 or 1100 or 1099 bps.
Therefore, your 8431 will not return an error when
using non standard baud rates, because the 843x are actually capable of working
at those baud rates.
