I want to put our ENET/100 on a 100Mbit subnet and access it from a Mac on a 1Gbit subnet. I used GPIB Explorer to set the manual ip address of the ENET/100.
My VI can talk to the ENET/100 fine and I can ping it from the (same) 100Mb subnet, but I can't access it at all from the Gbit subnet.
The subnet masks on the Gb and 100Mb networks are different. Could that be causing problems? Any other suggestions? Could it be port blocking by our network's routers? I can't find any info about port numbers used by the ENET/100.

dseitz,
You can see here: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/CEF5A3568A5DA71D8625732800520EA1 that the ENET/100 uses ports 5000, 5003, 5005, 5010, and 5015.
If you have a firewall between the two subnets, try forwarding all of those ports to the ENET/100. If that does not work, it could be an issue with the different subnets.

Wow, thanks Eric! I guess I expected that to be part of the ENET/100 documentation. I suspect I'll have to get my networking folks involved. I'll post back here if/when it's resolved.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. This was a false alarm. I discovered that the gateway address of the GPIB-ENET box simply hadn't been set by the folks setting it up. After I set it everything works fine.
Thanks again for the link re the ports.
