We fiddled around with it and managed to get it to work. Seems LabVIEW wasn't looking for the .dll file correctly on the new PC. The link was "broken" between labview code and the .dll file.
I will keep this thread open as my colleague wrote this code and I would like to have a go at making my own code from scratch.
I will try the method you have described using VISA etc and see what I can do. Should be a good learning experience.
I'll post questions here if I get stuck
I'll bear in mind some of the advice you have all given regarding .dll files, use of installers when using code on another machine etc.
