Communicating with instrument via Ethernet

I am trying to communicate with an instrument that only has an ethernet connection, it is a Logic Analyzer (Agilent 16702B). There is a document called RPI Overview that has commands in it that can be executed via a command line window. That is how I have been communicating with it up until now, I would send commands to it via the Pipes Open G tool, and read back the same way. Is there  a way to talk to this instrument using a VISA session?? I have only used VISA for GPIB communication. I have attached the RPI document, pp 6-7 talk about how to communicate with the instrument. Thanks so much for any help. Smiley Wink

According to the documentation you posted, there is a COM interface for the software, so you should be able to use the ActiveX functions. Have you tried that?

Did you allready try to configure a  network instrument in MAX with matching configuation settings ? If you then can communicate with the instrument using the VISA Test panels in MAX and the commands described in the manuals it should work.
