Computer hangs when reading the Spectrum Analizer's GPIB

Only happends when reading from the Spec Analizer, doesn't happend with any other instrument, and only when reading, writitng to the Spec. Analizer works fine. Actually it also hangs when sending a query command to the Spec Analizer.

Hi,

It sounds like the problem is either with the cable that you are using to connect to the spectrum analyzer, or the analyzer itself. Try chaning the cables that you are using to see if the GPIB cable has some broken connections. Ensure that there is no specific mode settings for your device to enable GPIB operation mode. Finally, attempt to use a different GPIB controller to double check that it is something happening with the device.

You may also consider contacting the instrument manufacturer to see if they have specific instructions for GPIB operation of your instrument.
