Connecting keithley 2400 and 2000 to Windows 7 computer

Solved!
Go to solution

I have a Keithley 2400 sourcemeter and a Keithley 200 digital multimeter connected to my computer through KUSB IEEE-488/GPIB from Keithley. When I plug the USB in to my computer it does not recognize the connection, and in fact my NI Measurement and Automation program doesn't recognize that they are connected at all. Using LABVIEW's help function I also installed the appropriate drivers for the 2400 and 2000, but with no effect. Does anyone have any advice on how I might get these to connect to my computer? I intend to use them for a Van der Pauw test.

Aren't you suppose to install the Keithley driver for that device first?

To be honest, I have no idea. I have no experience with Labview or this equipment, my boss assigned this to me today and I spent all day up to now googling things and trying to make it work. When I searched for the drivers for this equipment, the NI drivers were the only drivers to appear.

I would suggest that without the Keithley driver installed you won't get very far.

Hi

You need to find a visa driver for the KUSB

after that you can use the LabVIEW drivers from any site (the best are on the NI site)

Thnaks for your support. I now have the KUSB cable connected and working, but I still can't seem to find the two devices hooked into it in my computer or in my Measurement and Automation program. I know i have those drivers installed, but I don't know how I can connect to the devices.

Have tried contacting Keithley?

It is their equipment and I know from past experience they are familiar with NI software.

You'll get much faster results.

Many people here use NI hardware and software. I have no personal experience with the KUSB.
