I am getting a bluescreen error and then continuous rebooting after trying to install the NI 488.2 v2.4 drivers for a GPIB. This also occurred with v2.3. This problem continues until I reboot off of the last known good configuration which doesn't contain the drivers. This is occurring on an HP Compaq 8200 elite Convertible MiniTower. We have been able to do the installation without issue on the 8000 version of the same computer. Attached is a picture o the blue screen error.

Hi paulwp,
I assume you are using Windows XP. If so, the latest version of the NI 488.2 driver compatible with Win XP is 2.8.1. You might try installing the latest driver version, as opposed to 2.4, which is very old. Take a look at the NI 488.2 driver page here.
If it turns out that the driver version is not responsible for this behavior, it might be related to your computer's BIOS configuration. There is a chance it may need to be flashed to a newer version. We have a Knowledgebase article that discusses this blue screen and continuous rebooting behavior. Take a look here:

Let me know if this helps,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I am using XP. The reason for using version 2.4 is because that version has been validated for the instrument software we are using. I was able to get the driver installed by using the newest version and will now have to go validating that it will work without issue with our instrument software version.
