Differences between TNT4882 and TNT5004 for an OS driver writer?

Hello,

I will check with my managers to see what can be done.  I agree that getting the manual would be the fastest way to figure out how to take control etc.  I will post back with further instructions.

Hello,

I can arrange for you to get a copy of the manual after we have an NDA on record.  You can do this through a few different avenues.

  • Contact your local Field Sales Engineer (FSE) and ask them about signing an NDA.  You can have them contact me (reference this post) if they have questions.
    • If you do not know your local FSE, you can contact NI for the contact information of your FSE (NI Sales: (888) 280-7645).
  • If you do not have succes through these methods, please let me know and I will contact your FSE as well.

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.  I will probably be in contact with you via email in the near future.

Thanks,

Steven T.

Thanks for the offer!  I'll call NI Germany tomorrow, and will try finding

out who my local Field Service Engineer is.

Meanwhile, I had a closer look at the Linux driver code, and got the clue

about the necessary command to make the TNT5004 a system

controller.

So I've successfully transferred my first *IDN? query (plus response). Still,

having a manual would certainly make me feel a little safer. I guess once

I committed my changes to the FreeBSD SVN repository, people will hold

me responsible for any further bugs that might appear in its GPIB support. 😉

Hi Steven,

Well, it's been 5 years, but I hope an offer to get an NDA sighed to get the TNT5004 manual is still valid?

We don't know if we have an FSE, because we just bought the equipment and are aiming to do some development ourselves. Can I contact you somehow to get an NDA arranged?

Best regards,

Greg
