Hi,
I have a legacy application using NI-488 version 1.2 on windows 2008.
This application communicate with a GPIB device (agilent Instrument) via ENET10/100.
The application communicate with the device using ibfind(<NAME>). the <NAME> is define in the GPIB on the control pannel to a GPIB00/DEV1 - and the specific GPIB adress of the Instrument.
Now I wat to run the aplication on new PC with XP and MAX 4.7. I configure the ENET on th MAX and can communicate with the instrument on the interactive console using the ibdev function.
How do I configure a symbolic <NAME> to the Instrument GPIB adress so I can communicate it with ibfind function and that my legacy application will too.
Thanks,
Uri. M.

Solution:
The GPIB device template functionality is still available via a utility called GpibConf.exe. This is installed automatically with NI-488.2 v2.x and can be found in C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-488.2\Bin
