Download drivers from IDN

Unfortunately our company firewall blocks ftp. So the procedure to get an instrument driver from IDN is:

click the Download link

wait until connection times out and the error message with the download URL pops up

copy the URL and modify it from ftp://ftp.ni.com/.... to http://ftp.ni.com/...

Would it be possible to use http://ftp.ni.com/... instead of ftp://ftp.ni.com/.... in IDNs download links ?

Hello Markus,

unfortunately, there is no common rule after which corporate firewalls are set up. I know of at least two companies who prohibit embedded ftp links in http, but allow downloading of files through a dedicated ftp proxy.

Our web team has discussed this matter some time ago, and had decided to go for the "real" ftp links. What I can do for you is forward your request to them. Maybe if there are enough requests, they will place both kinds of links into the driver download pages...
