Drivers

We use Cal Exec Version 3.3 and I am just curious if the Labview Drivers for the AG33220A will work for this aplication.

Just to clarify, you want to use the 33220A as a calibration standard? I don't think I've ever worked with a cal lab that used one of these. I'm not sure it is accurate enough for a standard.

Yes we use these as a calibration standard.  In fact it is called out quite extensively in many procedures produced by FLUKE and AGILENT.  The older version 33120A is used in quite a few calibration procedures through NI calibration Executive.  It all boils down to accuracy of what you are testing compared to accuracy of the standard being used.  Voltage wise these units may not be very accurate but frequency accuracy on these units is actually quite good.

Hi Lee,

What hardware will you be calibrating using Calibration Executive?

Whether or not the AG33220A is supported with your application will depend on the calibration procedure and the recommended calibrating hardware that it outlines in that procedure. Without knowing which procedure you are using, it is difficult to recommend this function generator and LV driver over other options.

Have a great day!

Hi Peter,

We use the AG33220A for several different PXI cards.  I have not had the time to do the research for this particular standard, one that I know of right now that we could be utilizing is a 5522A for PXI- 4070, 4071 and 4065 cards.  Can I use the labview Drivers for calibration Exectutive for this equipment?

ok I did some research and we use the AG33220A for at least the PXI 4461 and 4472 cards.  Does that help?  I am just looking to see if there is a driver for this that will work with our calibration executive software.  I am a calibration Technician and have been for 20 years.  I can research wether something is accurate enough or not.

Hi Lee,

I apologize for the slight delay in reply. Calibration Executive does support and recommend the AG33220A for certain calibration procedures that require it. I personally checked the PXI-4461 and PXI-4472 and Calibration Executive provided the option to use a AG33220.

Because of this, Calibration Executive should install all necessary instrument drivers for hardware it supports so you shouldn't need to install the driver separately.

If you are having problems with this, you can find the instrument drivers on our Instrument Driver Library (http://ni.com/idnet). Here is the page for the 33220A driver.

I hope this helps.
