I am trying to communicate with an Angilent E3648A power supply using GPIB. NIMax verifies that it sees the power supply, but when I launch my application I get the following message:

Error 1074135040 occurred at hpe364xa

Intialize with options.vi

Possible reason(s):  Driver status: (hex 0xBFFA0000)

the version for the hpe36xa software is 3.1.2

IVI complilance package 2.3

labView 8.6

Why are you using such an old version of the IVI Compliance Package? The latest is 4.5. Are you also using an old version of NI-VISA?

The latest is 4.5 but does it support LabVIEW 8.6 which is what the OP is using?

Not sure if you are still having issues, but ICP 4.4 should work with 8.6.

NI-VISA that I'm using is 4.6.2.

do you recommend uninstalling ICP 2.3 prior to installing ICP 4.5?
