Did you mean:

Error: Channel or repeated capability name specified is not valid for the instrument.

I am using the PXI-1193 and I had it originally configured as 1193/Independent but now I'm swithing it, in MAX, to 1193/Quad 8x1 Mux and I'm getting the folowing error when I click on my routes that uses the rfswitches (1193):

"Channel or repeated capability name specified is not valid for the instrument."

What could be the problem?

Guy,

When a switch is configured in the "Independent" topology, it is possible to utilize the switch's full capabilities becuase custom switch topologies can be used.  This is particularly helpful when using switch executive, which allows you to create custom routes.  If, for example, you had originally configured the switch to have a "independent" topology and configured custom routes, changing the topology back to an 8x1 mux would limit the routes you can configure with switch executive.  First, are you using switch executive?  Second, are you able to create a new route without an error?

Yes I am using Switch Executive and I am creating new routes when I get this error message.  I know that the routes that I had created using Independent Topology will not work so I deleted those routes and now I'm creating new routes with the Quad 8x1 Mux topology.

I have created hardwires between two rfSwitches and I'm trying to connect a route that utilizes this hardwire but NISE gives me an error.
