Hi sdp123,

Just to make sure that I understand, you are running LabVIEW and you receive an error stating the following:

   1.  lktsrv.exe application error    memory not found...

   2.  nidmsrv.exe application error     memory not found ....

Is that correct? Also, what operating system are you using? What version of LabVIEW are you using? Does this error occur every time that you use LabVIEW? Or, is it only in certain situations? Any additional information would be helpful to narrow down the issue. Thanks!

I am having a similar problem on a system runing a Windows CVI application.

OS: Windows Xp - Service Pack 3

NI: DAQmx Version 9.6 with CVI RTE Version 8.5.1.356

See attached screen shot for dialog that appears during shutdown.  It does not occur at evbery system shutdown, only about 50% of the time.

What is "lktsrv.exe"or for that matter what is "Lookout"?

How can I fix this problem?

I do have a similar error once in a while. It is potentially a problem, as the system runs unattended and needs to shutdown (programmatically), and reboot at a later time. This error may potentially prevent the shutdown to proceed.

- XPEmbedded

- LV run time 2011

Could this help for the case the error is due to lktsvr.exe ? Earlier in the thread it was suggested to update all the drivers after an IDE update...

Thx

L.

Hi BSI,

That link is a potential workaround, yes.  If lktsvr.exe does not need to be started, then it will not start and that means a shutdown will not need to stop the service.  Our recommendation is still to update all drivers after an update to ensure all other aspects of the driver have been linked to the new updated version.  Additionally, this is a rather old thread that many people who may have generated another solution might not visit.  It could be worth creating a new thread to get more people looking at this issue.
