GPIB-HS-USB and Debian on Single-Board Computers running Debian 2.6 Kernel?

I'm toying with the idea of using a GPIB-HS-USB on a Debian based single-board-computer. In my case, an ARM (Marvell ARM9 based board running 2.6 kernel). Before I go down that path, I was wondering if anyone else can input their experiences or links to information on this topic?

Thank in advance,

Dave

Hello,
I know that Debian is a distribution of Linux however the only National Instrument supported Linux distributions
can be found here.

I hope this helps.

If your GPIB to USB converter is based on a FTDI chip, there is an appropriate kernel module and this should work.
You can find my experience with such a converter under opensuse here.

Christian,

Thanks for the reply. I was aware of the specific distroof NI support. Seems like it would be ideal if NI support more of a Kernel than a specifi distro however, I understand that not all distros are, necessesarily, equivalent. That said, the embedded board that I am working with is based on the Debian release so short of porting Red Hat or other distro an creating my own embedded platform (out of my scope), I was hoping other had attempted a similar feat.

Matthias,

Thanks for your reply. I'll take a look at the link. NI is my preferred GPIB device in Windows, but if I am open to alternative outside of Windows. Sounds like a possibility.
