I am trying to modernize a legacy system running HP-UX. The legacy GPIB hard drives are small in data size, hard to obtain and communicate with modern systems. I have a GPIB-USB adapter from National Instruments. Does anyone know if there is a way to convert the GPIB signals to USB to run the Operating System/File storage? I typically only see implementations interfacing with test equipment like VNA, and Oscilloscopes and this is not the use case I am looking for.

do you want to interface an HDD over GPIB so that you can read/write data to files on HDD over GPIB commands?
