GPIB USB HS Controller error

Hello,

I am using the GPIB USB HS to control a few pieces of equipment. When I open the DAQ Max and select "Scan for Equipment" the window at the bottom displays the message "there was an error..." It does not explain what the error is. The Ready light on the controller itself is Amber and the Active light is not lit. I have checked and double checked that everything is connected. When I run the NI Spy available in the DAQ Max it seems to be returning an error in something called Ibconfig IBCSC. Does anybody know what this means and how to fix it?

Thank you

Cossak,

I just have a few questions to help clarify the symptoms:

What devices are on the GPIB bus? Does it happen with specific individual devices, or does this happen if any GPIB device is attached? Also, what version of 488.2 do you have installed, what version of MAX are you using, and what OS are you on?

Thank you for the response Kyle. The problem was with a VSA I had attached to the GPIB bus that was not set up properly to be addressed by the controller. Once it was set to this mode I was able to find the devices.

Thanks again
