I just installed a new DAQmx downloaded from NI yesterday on a XP pro. The Measurement and Automation explorer is now running 5.0.0f1. However, when a GPIB-USB-HS is plugged in, the PC is unable to locate and install the driver for this device. Windows also is unable to find the device driver on the internet.
On two separate Vista enterprise 32 bit PCs running same 5.0.0f1, the GPIB-USB-HS is recognized and operational right away.
Also on another Vista enterprise 32-bit running 4.7.0f4, it is recognized right away.

DAQmx has absolutely nothing to do with a GPIB controller and the version of MAX is irrelevant. You need to install NI-488.2.

Thanks. Somehow I thought I had 488.2 installed before. With 488.2 3.0 installed. It is working, although I had to manually do driver update first time. This occurred on two XP PCs.
