Hi all, I'm currently stuck on a problem; background information is- My customer wanted to trial an updated control computer for a Test Set I help support and on the trial we purchased a SPARC machine running Solaris 8 and installed a NI PCI-GPIB card running version 2.4 and bespoke test software. This worked a treat and subsequently it passed the verification test so the customer ordered a further two. Now I have clean installed solaris 8 on both new machines purchased and installed the GPIB card (all as before) but now the instruments, on the end of the GPIB bus, fail to repsond to any commands sent out. I know the hardware is fine as I swapped hardrives over with the original machine and all worked fine. I've looked at ibconf and they all seem identical, I've also checked all devices are present and priveleges/ownership of all relevant files. Can anyone think of anything else to try? (see below for GPIB Anaysis.
Thanks in advance,
Justin Pyfrom

Hi,
Why don't you clone the working hard drive image for the new machines?

Hi,
Thanks for the reply and funnily enough we started that process this morning as we ran out of time to find the cause of the problem. Would be nice to discover the cause of it.
Regards,
Justin
