GPIB card not detected

Dear all.

I have installed agilent make PCI-GPIB in my PC where Labview7.1 and Measurement and automation software is already loaded. I want to communicate with the instrument using NI MAX and labview.But the MAX is not able to detect the GPIB card.

How to solve this problem??

Can only NI cards are detected by MAX.??

Normally, no, you cannot see cards from other vendors in MAX. It is, after all, an NI utility program. However, if you are running recent versions of NI-VISA and the Agilent drivers, you can go into MAX and select NI-VISA under software. Click the VISA Options tab and under general settings, select passports. Enable the NI-VISA passort for Tulip.

I have enabled the NI-VISA passort for Tulip. What is actually does?

Now also i am not able list that card in interfaces

Now can i communicate with the instrument usung interactive control? How?

Can i commuincate with instruemnt using labview?
