You may need to refresh MAX by pressing F5.

What OS and what version of the software are you using? Did the NI-488.2 Troubleshooting wizard detect any problems?

Windows 2000

No the trouble Shooting wizard did not pick up any problems with the device.

I just want to make sure that you have an NI PCI-GPIB card, and not some other brand.

Are you logged in as a user with administrator priveleges? MAX may not be able to do some things if you are logged in as a regular user.

The control panel? It sounds like you have an old version of NI-488.2 installed. Try upgrading your driver.

- Uninstall the card from Device Manager
- Uninstall NI-488.2 from Add/Remove Programs
- if you have LabVIEW 6.0.2 or earlier and did not do a custom install w/o drivers I suggest you: uninstall, reboot, then reinstall LabVIEW. When you reinstall, do a custom install and click on Drivers folder and select "This feature will not be installed."
- Reboot and cancel out of the "Found New Hardware Popup"
- Install NI-488.2 ver 2.1
- Reboot
