HP 8970A problem

I created a program that communicates with a HP 8970A Noise Figure Meter.
Occasionally the instrument will transmit garbled data when querying from
the noise reading. Has anyone had this problem?

Hello-

Try running NI-Spy. NI-Spy will report if the data coming from the driver is actually garbled. It may be the control code, possibly some pointer mangling issues.

Hi,

I need to develop a program to perform some NF testing. Please share your experience with the instrument. If it's going to be hard to get it to work, I should better try to get a better instrument rather than writing programs for this instrument. Please advice.
