Hi, sorry to bother you. I am completely new to Labview system so some questions may seem stupid. Our group is now trying to set up a automatic data acquisition system and it is supposed to work like this:
Labview send frequency to function generator to trigger a laser system and these frequencies are discrete points, sent at certain interval;
An Lock-in Amplifier is used to monitor and record hamonic signal from a photodiode and the Labview automatically collect the harmonic signal (Amplitude and Phase) from the Lock-In Amplifier at each frequency;
Measurement and data acquisition at each frequency may repeat for several times and then move on to next frequency value.
We have instruments (LIA and Function Generator) to give and collect signal and they are controlled by computer (a *.vi file).
What do I need to set up this system? Is a GPIB Controller enough or I need more?
My understanding is, after I installed the GPIB on computer, I install Labview and also drivers for my instrument, and then program a vi file to controll the whole process, is it correct?
Thank you very much. Any advice is highly appreciated!
