How can i perform parallel port communication in labVIEW?

My friend trying to do parallel port communication with ADC and labview.

which is possible without using any DAQ device?

If you have a parallel port available on your PC there is a good example to start from located at Help>>Find examples>>search for Parallel and find Parallel Port Read and Write.vi. Maybe this will give you a good place to start.
