How do I install LabView without interfering with NI-488.2 GPIB driver?

I have installed the NI-488.2 driver for use on my PC with a GPIB cable to a spectrum analyzer (Tek2712). When I later installed LabView 5.1, the Measurement and Automation program would no longer query the 2712 without error. Are there settings that are affected in the NI-488.2 by LabView (5.1) installetion?

To install LabView without installing the NI-488.2 GPIB driver just deselect that option in the installer. OR. You can download/overwrite with the latest GPIB driver from http://www.ni.com/support/install.
