How do I modify an existing VI for one SMU to another?

I have a fairly involved VI that controls a Keithly 2400, and I would like to modfiy this VI so it can instead control a Keithly 236. I was told that I could replace the subvi's for the 2400 with subvi's for the 236, yet the subvi's I have for the 236 do not match those for the 2400.  I am new to Labview so please reply in simple terms. Thank you for your help,

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to, but we do have an instrument driver for the 236 here : http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.model_page?p_model_id=1041

This driver is unfortunately not NI Certified, and thus is not officially supported. You may want to look into the subVIs of the 2400 and the 236, see what's different, and make the necessary changes. I would think the only major changes are with the messages sent to the device, but you'd have to look deeper into the subVIs to see for sure. If not, hopefully there is another member that has done this before and can help you.
