I can't see my Agilent Counter 53181A in Labview at VISA Resource Name, but I can communicate with him

Hi. i'm Sorin.
I have the following system configuration:
Hardware:
   1. Agilent USB/GPIB Converter 82357B
   2. Agilent Frequency Counter 53181A
   3. PC P4 with USB 2.0
Software:
   1. Windows XP SP2
   2. Labview  v.8.2.1
   3. NI-488.2  v.2.52
   4. NI-VISA  v.4.1
   5. MAX  v.4.2.1
   6. Agilent IO Libraries Suite 14.2
   7. Agilent 82357B driver  v.14.2.9709 (1/9/2007)

After I read a lot of posts with Agilent USB/GPIB Converter 82357B communication problem, I tried almost anythink to get it
work in Labview, and I'm out of ideas. I installed and reinstalled windows, NI-VISA, drivers, etc.
I'll be happy if you can give me a solution, concerning my problem.

Shortly, it's like that:
I see my Agilent 53181A Counter and I can communicate with him in every test panel like Agilent VISA, NI-VISA, MAX, and so
on. I send *IDN? and I receive his name and model number. I also grab some pictures for you to help, to see my communication
results and settings.
I installed of course the 53181A driver for Labview to use it in *.vi but there is nothing under VISA resource name, and I
know it should be a pulldown menu with my alias. I tried different vi's, but nothing, and if I tried to write by myself the
Counter address (i.e. GPIB0::3::INSTR) the Labview is hanging and I receive a Non Responding Message.
I checked the tulip passport, the Agilent VISA is secondary VISA, I followed all the advices seen in other posts. No result.
Maybe I have some wrong settings, or I don't know what are the steps to load a *.vi, that's why I made screenshots with the
important panels.

But in a certain post I read that o person from you had lunch with the respondent of Agilent Converter 82357B and she
admmited that there is a readme file with some special steps to establish communication with Labview. I searched on your
site, on Agilent site, but I didn't found it and your guy said he has it. Could I receive that file on e-mail, or any good
solution to my problem, because I feel I'm getting old in front of my PC.
PS: I have also an Agilent 33220A Waveform Generator and I have similar problem: communication everywhere, except Labview
8.2.1. vi's.

I wait impatiently with hope, for your answer. Thanks.

Hi Sorin,

It's good to hear that you have communication with your Agilent device established.  You may wish to follow this links steps to verify that you set up the Agilent Instrument Drivers properly.

Lastly I would recommend that you contact Agilent for more information on that readme file with the special steps for establishing communication with LabVIEW.
