I need to communicate with the USB port to send controls to my 4d OLED any help Please

I need to communicate with the USB port to send data  to my 4d OLED any help Please

I’m using Windows 7 on a laptop computer and I have a 4D system OLED display connected through the USB port, works well, so does the 4d IED , all downloads through USB, works well

I'm using labview , I not sure how to do this , but  I want to send data that I’m getting from my 6009

Analog inputs (signals)  to the 4D OLED display, using the USB connection

any ideas or help to point me in the right direction, new to Labview.

Thank you BB

Hello,

I am not that familiar with the 4d OLED display.  Perhaps you can give us some more information on how this device works, what communication protocol it uses and what inputs it requires, etc and we can try to help out!

The Olde display is a 4D system uOLED-32028-P1 it is a touch
screen

display

It has a uUSB MB5 converter that it uses to talk to the USB

The uUSB-MB5 connectes between the uOLED-32028-P1 and the
computer.

this is a link to the display

this is a link to the MB5 USB to serial

converter.

The display works well with the computer and the 4d IED

I just need to know how to send commands to the uOLED-32028-P1
using the MB5 USB

using  Labview, do I need special
software? visa?

any ideas would help a lot ,

Thank you very much

Yes, serial communication requires VISA. See the shipping examples.

That's two questions. Smiley Very Happy

Have you never gone to the LabVIEW Help menu? All sorts of cool stuff there, including LabVIEW Help and Help>Find Examples. Lots of people spend a lot of time creating all of that with the expectation that it would get used.

NI-VISA is included with the hardware drivers that come with your LabVIEW distribution. You can also download it. Just click on the Support tab above. Price of it is included with LabVIEW.

Yes I did go to the Help and it was GREAT I got a lot of Great Ideas, that I'm using

and Ok , if the drivers are inclued , That is great

OK I I need to to is get some examples how to communicate with the USB

port and start sending commands

I will look for some examples I though I had to buy some extra software

if it is just driver, cool , that I have that with the full development system, Great

Just want to add a few things , I went to MAX and it seems as if I can commands to the USB port and com3 at lease it resets the port and

I kind of know some thing is working, any way I'm trying to get help from 4DG systems to help me send commands to the OLED 32038

I have a big demo coming up the 28 and in a little bind, Labview is working Great and I can display all the important data

bells and other things on a monitor and this is great, but the OLED display is located on the equipment and it would be great

to us it m in fact the user want this, by the way I did go to fine examples and Yes this helped a lot for sure. They saved me a lot of time and

I got most of a very complex job done in a few hours. I must say Labview is amazing. For the user I'm using a 6009 and I took and put a small PC board on the top of it Glue it on , and I have a few drivers  lie a 74XX  TTL parts that work great ,

so any help would be great , I still have a few problems but making head way, thank to your help at Labview and 4DG

One last question , can I get Labview to run a .exe file. this may help me a lot

I will keep looking for examples.

Hello,

This document titled "How Do I Run an Executable or External File From Within LabVIEW?" may help.
