IVIengine vs IVI shared components

What is the relationship between NI provided 'IVI engine' and the IVI foundation 'IVI Shared Components' ?

As far as I known,the IVISharedComponents are supposed to supercede the IVIengine; is it right ?
Does MAX interact correctly with the IVISharedComponents ?
Does MAX support the new XML based configuration files ?

Hi,

The IVI engine 1.83 includes the functions of the IVI shared components.

From what I understand the IVI shared components are common functions used by IVI drivers. This doesn't affect the configuration, I don't think the IVI shared components would affect MAX.

At the moment the IVI engine configuration server does not store the configuration data in xml format. The IVI information is stored in the windows ini file format (ivi.ini)
