That's not an error, it's a warning. When you get an actual error, the status Boolean turns to a red 'x'. The warning is normal when you disable termination character detection because the default behavior is to have it enabled and then VISA Read will stop its reading when the termination character is detected. It's just alerting you to the possiblity that there may be bytes left in the srial buffer.
