Is NI-Device library still supported?

I've talked with a National Instruments sales person, and he couldn't initially even find the part number for this package. He claims that it's not supported, and therefore not sold, anymore. On the other hand, I saw some NI-Device related questions in these forums (with answers) from not more than couple of months ago. So, is it still supporte (and sold) or nor?

Hi FreddyBZ,

So typically when we still have a model page up for a product, it is still available for purchase.  Perhaps something went wrong with the search or the database.  Did you two try searching all of the part #'s listed on that model page?  I'll give the Sales folks a call tomorrow and see about clearing this up.  Thanks!

Thanks Anna.

By the way. Trying to reach the NI-Device product page on you web site by going through the hierarchy doesn't work. I wnet through "NI Home" > "Products & Services" > "Instrument Control" > "OEM Device-Side Tools" > "Software" at which point a link to "NI-Device" should show but it doesn't. Only through site search is the page accessible.

The sales person in NI who told me that this product is no longer available is the sales rep responsible for our area (Sunnyvale, CA), can you make sure that the information reaches him?

Hi Freddy,

I'm afraid I have some bad news.  So the reason that the website is so difficult to locate is because it should be deleted.  I double-checked with Sales and R&D and both confirmed that NI-Device is no longer sold.  I apologize for the confusion.

Sorry to hear this. Do you know of any library/product (NI or other) that is intended for device side communication development for GPIB and/or ethernet and/or USB?

Hi FreddyDZ,

Unfortunately we do not have another driver as a replacement for NI-Device, and I am not familiar with what other 3rd-party options may be out there.  Someone else on the forums may have a better idea..

I've just noticed that NI-Device is still listed (and part number is given) on the datasheet of the NI PCI-8215 (GPIB/USB combo board). I've also noticed that if I use the shopping cart to order by part number, it recoginzes the NI-Device Plus - what will happen if I order it? (Somewhere I still hope that it's just someones mistake, and that NI-Device is still available - as I cannot fine any of the shelf alternative...)

We apologize for confusion about the availability of NI-Device.  We are currently in a transition phase for NI-Device, and will be announcing plans shortly.  As of now, the page you are referring to should not be up, and it is being removed as soon as possible.  Any requests for NI-Device Plus or Plus DDK can be directed to me.
