KE6221, KE2400 Triggering through Labview/GPIB

Hi everyone,

I am trying to configure a Keithley 6221(current source) and Keithley 2400 (voltmeter).

I would like to use SRQ to configure the 6221 to indicate each time the current source has changed (when doing linear/custom sweeps) and that indication would trigger labview to take a reading of the voltage using the 2400.

My problem is I am having a heck of a time to configure the 6221 to indicate said sweep change and then using labview to read said data.

So I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this or has any useful links/examples.

I have gone through multiple manuals and have searched the web extensively, but I am still as lost as I was when I started.

I have looked through the IEEE488.2 command list and commands like ibwait and ibtrg seem like they would be useful, but I am still confused on how to use them.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Nathan Cernetic

Hi

the keithley 2400 is more than a DMM, it can also source current and measure voltage.

Did you look at the triggerlink connection. That is much easier and faster than via the GPIB bus.
