The LXI standard assumes support for LAN-based event notification. A socket-type instrument that supports this technology can use a UDP port to send, for example, SRQ. In VXI-11 and HiSLIP instruments, subscription seems to be performed automatically (ephemeral port). However, in socket-type instruments, the port number must be specified manually, including in VISA. However, I did not find any UDP port settings or any mention of LAN-based event notification in either NI MAX or VISA. Maybe NI VISA does not support LXI in full? Or does NI VISA use different terminology for this technology? If so, where should I look?

VXI-11 is a LAN reproduction of the long-standing GPIB interface.
And HiSLIP is an improvement over VXI-11.
Both interfaces trace their origins back to GPIB, so both support SRQ.
On the other hand, Socket is not derived from a communication standard for measuring instruments, so it only supports simple communications and cannot use additional functions such as SRQ.
(The same applies to serial communications such as RS-232C.)
SRQ can be used with the following four communication methods:
