LabVIEW 7.0 and VISA

Will NI-VISA work with LV 7.0 Express? We're reluctant to upgrade the LV version because we can't afford for this tester to be down. I'm trying to use a IVI driver for an Agilent 8462A Mux and want to use Switch Executive through TestStand to control it. The IVI driver requires NI-VISA 4.2 and I would like to know if I upgrade VISA from 2.6 to 4.2 if I'll have any instrument comm problems.

Because 31oct = 25dec!

Hello,

Are you using LabVIEW Express 7, as in the student version?

There is not much in the way of documentation about driver support for this version of LabVIEW. I will say that I would think it should work since the earlier versions of NI-VISA were not dependent on the version of LabVIEW, just the operating system. Double check in the NI-VISA 4.2 readme that your OS is supported.

If you find that the driver install breaks your application, you can always revert back to 2.6 quite painlessly by ununstalling 4.2 and reinstalling 2.6, available at ni.com/support..
