Did you mean:

Load LV exe onto Windows XP Embedded, use VISA in loopback

Theoretical question:
Many new devices these days run off a version of Windows, like Windows XP Embedded, and give some access to the OS. Lets assume that there is enough physical memory, and I have administrator privileges to install programs, and that I install an LV exe that I usually use to communicate with said device. Are there special considerations with LV and Windows XP Embedded? I read here that it installs just like on any other OS.
Second part: The LV program used VISA resources before to communicate with the device when the program was running on an external computer. Can I still use VISA? I was thinking of creating a loopback crossover cable essentially, setting the device IP address (and therefore Labview) to one IP, then creating a resource in MAX that would be the next IP address up (like you would if communicating between the device and a computer with a crossover cable). Any reason this wouldn't work?

Or better yet, use the Microsoft Loopback Adaptor

Hello Miguelc:

Thank you so much for contacting National Instruments. Technically, LabVIEW is not officially supported on XP embedded (it has not been tested and stamped), but there are many customers out there who have had success with it. If you check out our discussion forums on ni.com, you can see lots of posts about it -- I've linked one here.
