Theoretical question:
Many new devices these days run off a version of Windows, like Windows XP Embedded, and give some access to the OS. Lets assume that there is enough physical memory, and I have administrator privileges to install programs, and that I install an LV exe that I usually use to communicate with said device. Are there special considerations with LV and Windows XP Embedded? I read
here that it installs just like on any other OS.
Second part: The LV program used VISA resources before to communicate with the device when the program was running on an external computer. Can I still use VISA? I was thinking of creating a loopback crossover cable essentially, setting the device IP address (and therefore Labview) to one IP, then creating a resource in MAX that would be the next IP address up (like you would if communicating between the device and a computer with a crossover cable). Any reason this wouldn't work?
