Hi,
I'm not sure if the right place to post this.
We had to replace the Single Board Computer in our rackmount data acquisition system. This required a repair installation of Windows XP, but all of the NI software appears to still be installed. We removed all of the PCI boards in the system while we were doing this, but when we put them back in, we get the MAXVISATimeoutError error in MAX 4.6 when trying to expand the Devices and Interfaces branch (the two NI boards in the system at the moment are a PCI-GPIB and a PCI-6289). The error dialog indicates MAX was waiting for a driver. I eventually get directed to contact an NI engineer directly.
What should I do? Do I need to re-install all the NI drivers and MAX?
Thanks for your help,

I forgot to mention that Windows detected all of the hardware and automatically found the drivers. All of the devices show up in Windows Device Manager.
Also, I hadn't noticed before, but I get the same error in MAX if I try to expand the Software branch.
Thanks,
Ron

Hello,
As re-installing NI-VISA and NI-488.2 in a good option you could also try this.
Good luck
