MccDAQ USB-488 compatibility

NI owns Measurement Computing Corporation. The MCC USB-488 GPIB interface is made by NI. Has the NI firmware in the MccDAQ USB-488 GPIB interface been purposely crippled to not allow full functionality with NI products?

Hi

I don't know this product but in what way is it crippled? speed?  And did you test the LabVIEW library? I'm really interested.

I assumed since the MccDAQ GPIB interface is made by NI and it looks identical to the NI GPIB-USB-HS interface, I could use the latest NI driver instead of the one supplied by MccDAQ. The NI driver has utilities like IO Trace that the MccDAQ driver does not offer. Unfortunately the NI driver did not seem to recognize the MccDAQ interface.

The MccDAQ driver seems to be working OK in the Labview demo and another GPIB software package I am using.
