NI I/O Trace file has captured calls, but displaysnone

I am trying to open a NI I/O Trace file (captured on another computer), but when I open the file, it says in the status line "Captured: 23637, Displayed: 0".

The file is 48 MB, and it is not empty. How do I get NI I/O Trace to show the calls?

I'm no expert on viewing prerecorded files but have you looked at the settings under NI I/O Trace>>Tools>>Options>>View Selection tab? Maybe that could help.

Now Using LabVIEW 2019SP1 and TestStand 2019

Hi HDJ

Are you using the same version of I/O trace between the 2 computers?

If you double check under Tools --> Options, select General Tab. What is the value of Call history depth?

Best Regards

Anders

Thanks for the replies.

In View Selection all are on. The version of the generating NI Trace is 3.0.2, the viewing one is 3.0. There is no NI Trace listed when I run the NI Update service. Do I need the full NI-DAQ, VISA and GPIB libraries to view a capture?

The call history depth is 1000.

I can view and export to a text file on the generating machine (but it is not very accessible).

Hi HDJ

I would start by updating to the same version of I/O Trace. You cannot do this through update service that is more intended for small fixes than larger updates. (Like Microsoft update won't update you office from 2007 to 2010).

You shouldn't need all of NI-DAQ, NI-VISA and GPIB to view a capture. But again you cannot install NI IO Trace seperately. So you should be able to only need i.e. NI-VISA as stated here:

Upgrading to the Latest Version of NI I/O Trace

I believe that IO trace 3.0.2 should be in NI-VISA 5.2, but I would double check with the generating target.

Download NI-VISA 5.2

I know you can get it as a part of the NI Driver Set here - but that is a larger download:
