NI-KAL 1.3 won't install

Hello.  The NI-KAL 1.3 rpm file nikali-1.3.0-f0.i386.rpm does not install because it says it failed dependencies for /bin/sh which I have and for a kernel >- 2.4 which I am running
(2.6.16.18).
I am getting ready to wipe out the disk and install Slackware 9.1 because that worked  a while back with the old ni driver which I have, so please let me know if you can help me
soon.
Thanks

John,

What distribution are you trying to install this on?  I'm guessing it is not an rpm based distribution, and I'm guessing since your previous distribution was Slackware you are probably still using Slackware.

The problem is that even if you install rpm in Slackware, the rpm database is not populated with all of the components in your system.  There is a nice howto on installing NI-DAQmx 8.0 on Slackware 10.2, that will probably help you get started.  Even though it is for written for NI-DAQmx, it should be relevent for NI-488.2 or any of our drivers.
