I am not sure the correct place to post this.
Our situation is that some, but not all of our test PCs have damaged NI MAX configurations after the crowdstrike debacle.
On 1 PC we simply reloaded the config file. And that fixed that PC problem.
On 3 PCs NI MAX simply will not open. We will do the straightforward repair path followed by uninstall reinstall.
I am not concerned yet that we can not resolve. What I am trying to figure out is why NI MAX got affected.
Does anybody else have this problem? Is this a bug in NI MAX.
Also the configuration file for NI MAX has gotten corrupted over the years on a PC here and there. I am trying to reconcile why a config file should get corrupted. It should not be edited outside intentional edits by user.
If the computer setup is not changing why would the configuration file need to be edited.
I think there may be a logic problem in NI MAX.

I've experienced the same issue. Had two separate systems with corrupted configuration data.

I had the same issue on one of my customers computers. I ended up running the NI repair through windows “settings > Apps > Installed apps” this did not fix the issue and took a long time. Next I reset the MAX Database file.
See knowledgebase article: https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z000000P8awSAC&l=en-US
This did solve my problem and I probably should have tired this first. It was also a lot faster than the repair process.
I recommend trying the Database reset first. If that doesn’t work, try the repair. Note I had to reboot multiple times after the repair but not sure if this was due to other issues.
Hope this helps.

I should have followed up. The database reset was the solution that worked for us as well.
We almost did a software repair.
It was reported to me that NI Max was not opening. But then a day later I was told it opens but takes multiple minutes.
I am still disappointed in NI Max database getting corrupted. It should be a file that does not change unless specified.
