NI VISA freezes when initializing

Thanks for the response Lynn. I have the same version of NI-Visa and OSX on a macbook pro. But still NI-Visa freezes on the initializing window.

Can you let me know if you are booting with 32-bit or 64-bit kernel?

I never quite got around the problem. Had to do away from Macbook!

VISA is listed in System Information >> Software >> Frameworks as 64-bit.  Most other NI software, including LV is 32-bit.

Like I mentioned in a previous post, we saw an issue with VISA being installed next to a specific 488.2 driver. If I'm remembering correctly, upgrading the GPIB driver resolved the issue. Do you have any other drivers installed besides LabVIEW and VISA?

I had the same problem. I installed the newest ni-visa driver but visa freezes. The solution was to install the newest ni488 driver and visa begins to communicate with my arduino leonardo through serial port (usb).
