NI-serial AT disconnect

I have a PC running Win NT 4.0 Smiley Sad  (yes, I know)  using 2 NI - AT bus serial port cards.  I have installed NI-serial and have gotten the cards to work.

The problem is that after a couple of re-boots, the cards are no longer recognized by NI-serial.  When the PC boots, the cards are shown on the BIOS screen with their respective interrupts, but if you open the NI ports tool under Control Panel, no cards are recognized.

Has anyone had a similar problem?   The only fix that I have found is to remove the cards, reboot, shutdown, re-install the cards and reboot.  Obviously, this is not a viable solution.

Hi,

Do the boards still show up in Device Manager? What’s the serial numbers of the two serial cards? What version of NI Serial do you have? Can you post a screen shot of the NI Ports tool?

Thanks for your reply.  I don't think that NT had device manager, I wish that it did.

I think the NI-Serial version is 1.5.  What is the latest version that will work with NT?

I'll try to get some screen shots for you.
