Hi ScottieB,
thanks for the reply.
I get this error message when I try to open the file in windows explorer, have tried NI4882170 with the same problem.
Unable to select driver when adding new hardware after fitting PCI-GPIB card to computer.
Regards
Marty.

Can you confirm the file name (with extension), and send me the file size in bytes and date information on the NI488224.EXE file? Something is wrong with your WinXP computer or the file is corrupted. I can download the file just fine, and I know that the 1.7 version (which has been on the FTP site for years) doesn't have a problem. Can you try these on another computer? Did you downoad them from the web?

Very odd. Judging by the way you formatted your dates, I'm guessing that you're not in the US. Where are you? Are you using a localized version of Windows XP? I doubt that that's what's causing this but I'm at a loss. Tens of thousands of people have downloaded 1.7 without a problem. Are you running this from the hard drive, or from some other media when it gives you the error?

Scott B,
I am in the UK, north east , Middlesbrough. Tried it from hard drive and group drive on a server. As far as I am aware the Windows XP is nothig special.

Marty,
One thing you could try is renaming ni488224.exe to ni488224.zip and opening it with Winzip or another zip program. It's simply a self-extracting executable. If this doesn't work, you should contact the UK branch for a CD of the driver.

Hello,
I downloaded already 2 times the above mentioned exe file, via our internal network (passing the firewall) and via a PC directly connected to the internet, and every time when trying to unzip this file, it gives my an error that the file corrupt is and that the error can be caused during file transfer....
I urgently need the driver for the PCI-GPIB card we have here under Win XP.

I had the same problems downloading, I contacted NI, they sent me a hard copy of the driver next day, no more problems.
