Hi All,
I'm trying find some good resource on internet to better understand different buses. Viz.,
Whenever I work in some communication (say Serial or GPIB), I get through it using VISA functions in LabVIEW and with little knowledge about the actual bus. But what I want to know is how such communication buses are different from each other. Some brief about each buses. Some sources on internet which explains them without getting too detail explanation. A book suggestion will also be an appreciable.
Thanks,
Ajay

Wikipedia always comes through for me. And VISA is not a communication bus. It is an abstraction layer so you don't need to know the low level driver stuff.

Modbus has a website that has the specs and explanations of most of what you want: http://modbus.org/tech.php
The Profibus website is also helpful: http://www.profibus.com/downloads/
However, if you want access to the low level specifications you need to buy them.
Your list is missing the CIP protocols, maintained by odiva: http://www.odva.org/Home/tabid/53/lng/en-US/Default.aspx
