Need help setting up solaris serial port for use with visa serial vi's

I'm trying to use a serial communication vi I've used successfully on a pc platform in the past. I'm using a thermometer that only has serial communication.  I needed to move it to a sun solaris2. I don't know what is necessary for me to do to set up the serial port of the sun so it will work on that platform also.

Hi Jim,

All you should need to do is install NI-VISA

Once NI-VISA is installed, you should be able to talk through the serial port with no problems. Your LabVIEW application should run just like it does on a Windows machine.
