Hi kvt,
It sounds like there was a problem with the driver installation. If the PCI-GPIB was installed in the computer before the NI-488.2 driver was installed, then Windows may not know to associate the NI-488.2 driver with the PCI-GPIB. Try uninstalling NI-488.2 and remove the PCI-GPIB from the computer. Then install NI-488.2 without the PCI-GPIB in the computer. When the driver finnishes installing, it will prompt you to shutdown the computer and install the hardware. When you reboot the computer with the PCI-GPIB installed, the Getting Started Wizard should automatically run. You also might want to install the latest version of NI-488.2 which you can download here:
https://www.ni.com/en/support/downloads/drivers/download.ni-488-2.html
If you still can't get the PCI-GPIB to be found, please find the device in the Windows Device Manager and see if it is showing an error.
