No response on the command button

i am using CVI 6.0, there is a slide showing the progress of downloading the from RS232. It is so so unstable that sometime i can get the value. but something i return nothing to me. why?

2nd question, the silde is control by the thread, which is i using syncwait to increase the value of the slider. but the thing is, there is a cancel for me to stop all the progress, but, after i run the program, even how many time i click the cancel button. it dont have any response.. what is the possible problem.. any expert please help me.. asap,.. i need it urgently. thanks ,,

Are you using the progress bar control with CVI 6? Im still unclear as to if your problem is with the serial part or the progress bar.

When you are clicking the cancel button, is the button getting pressed or does it look like the UI is hung? If it is the latter, make sure you are calling ProcessSystemEvents()
