Not recognised PCI-GPIB card

Hey all, I am having problems with my machine not recognising my PCI-GPIB card. Here is what happened. We had been using the card to talk to an instrument in the lab but with us moving equipment around in seems the card was dislogged out of the pci slot in the computer. I turned off the machine and put the card back in properly. The issue now is the computer dose not recognise the card. I have gone through and uninstalled NI488.2 drivers from my computer and the card and have gone through a complete reinstallation but not luck. Does anyone have any ideas of what may be wrong? This happened a long time ago on an old PC i was using and was never able to fix the problem.

Some of the pins on the card could have been shorted to adjacent pins on the connector. If so, the short could have damaged the board. That is why you always use a screw to hold the card in. Try it in a different pc and if it does not work there, contact NI about a possible repair.

Hi,

Try this. Open 'Control Panel', click on the 'System' icon and goto 'Hardware' then 'Device Manager'

Right click on the 'PCI-Gpib' interface and and click 'Update driver'.
