I have just installed a PCIe-8431/8 card into a Stealth computer. I installed the 8.3.1 version of the driver under Windows 7 Pro. There is only one other board installed which is an ethernet card. After install, I run the serial port troubleshooting wizard as directed in the documentation. All of the ports fail to initialize. When running MAX, I get this message "
VISA returned this device when finding resources, and MAX was able to use VISA to parse the resource name. The resource was busy, so MAX could not successfully open a VISA session to the device." It is com 1 on the board but com 3 in the system. Also, the enumeration of the 8 ports is not in order. I see another posting and tried to run the NIPortConfig software but that did nothing to re-order them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello TZAJ,
I'm sorry to see that the serial board isn't behaving.
Before worrying too much about the how the ports are enumerated, it'll be good to make sure the card is working! So lets try getting MAX out of the picture and see what can be done with hyperterminal.

What were the troubleshooting docs that you have been following? This'll give me an idea of what troubleshooting steps you've taken and what still requires inspection.
Thank you for your patience.
