Parity check error when installing PCI-GPIB+

When installing a new PCI-GPIB+ card on my Windows XP machine (Dell GX280) I encounter the following 'blue screen of death!'....

*** Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity check / Memory Parity Error
*** The System has halted ***

I did some research on the web and found the following site http://www.listeninc.com/site/support_faq.html, which refers to the same error and the cause being the BIOS version.  I went ahead and upgraded from A04 to A05 but I still get the same problem.  I have tried another new PCI-GPIB+ card resulting in the same error.

Any help and/or suggestions would be really appreciated at this stage.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Was the machine unplugged when the card was installed? With ATX mobo's the some power in on even when the PC is off. Mobo or other hardware damage may result if card was installed with PC plugged in.

Did you follow proper antistatic protocols? Discharge your person to earth ground prior to touching card and installing

Did you try removing the card and did the message go away.

Have you tried reseating the memory?

Just some suggestions, hope you can resolve it.

There is a known issue on specific Optiplexes with the PCI-GPIB+ boards.  This will be fixed in the next version of NI-488.2 after v2.4.2.  I have communicated a fix to acrmartin that will help him out in the mean time.  If anyone else needs this fix, either post or contact support.

Thanks,

Guess I was way off the mark on that one.
Glad to hear there is a software resolution.

I'm seeing the same issue with a Dell Precision 380....A first level support call yielded no results, and the issue is being escalated....If anyone has a fix, let me know.
